Here I Am

Just want to lie down in comfort’s arms tonight
I’m exposed in every light
And I want to slip through the dim

Just want to get away from hostility’s bite
It grows in my teeth
And numbs expression skin deep

I’m not asleep
Cause here I am crying
And maybe waking up, is merely dying
If thoughts could go away, sky-diving from the plane
We inhabit
Would we grab at something true?
Outside of me or you

Too often fooled by complacency’s smile
Floating calm and in the water
Here comes the crocodile

Can’t help but be fooled by relativity’s eyes
Sacrifice a scale to never compromise
Who we are
Who I am
